Trust & Safety at GhanaProfessionals

We take fraud seriously. This page explains what we do to keep the platform safe — and what you can do if something doesn't look right.

No candidate fees — ever

Applying for jobs is free. Being considered is free. Receiving an offer is free. Any request for payment is a scam. Report it immediately.

We actively scan messages and job listings for payment-related language. If we detect a fee request, the listing or message is flagged and the employer is suspended pending review.

How we protect your messages

Phone numbers, email addresses, and external links are hidden in messages until a trust threshold is met. The employer must be verified, and the candidate must have applied to their job through the platform.

We scan messages for scam patterns — money transfer references, urgency language combined with payment requests, and premature requests to move off-platform. Flagged messages are held for admin review before delivery.

How to report

You can report:

  • A job listing that looks suspicious or fraudulent
  • A user who is impersonating someone or behaving inappropriately
  • A message that contains scam attempts or harassment

Use the report form to describe what happened. Attach a screenshot if you can. We review every report.

Our response times

  • Fraud/scam reports: Reviewed within 4 hours, acted on within 12 hours if confirmed.
  • Other reports: Reviewed within 24 hours, action within 48 hours.

You'll receive a status update within 24 hours of submitting your report.

What happens to scammers

Our enforcement follows an escalation ladder: Warning → Temporary suspension → Permanent ban.

We track ban evasion attempts by matching email domains, phone numbers, and business registration numbers against previously banned accounts.

Your data

We align with the Ghana Data Protection Act. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with third parties except as required by law. Verification documents are stored securely and accessible only to our admin team.
